Invest in yourself
and your family
Investment
Investing in therapy is an investment in yourself and your family.
Many parents of young kiddos confide in me that they’re afraid their children won’t like them or get along with them when they grow into teens and adults. Most of these parents fear there’s nothing they can do to change this, that it’s already set in stone, but I’m here to make sure you know that it most definitely is not set in stone. There are many ways we can improve parent-child relationships that have lasting impacts over the course of your lifelong relationship with your child. It’s never too late to work on increasing joy and connection with your kiddo, and doing so is truly an investment in yourself and your family.
Just like we invest money for retirement, therapy is a way to invest in your emotional well-being and relationships, and even better, you can reap the benefits in real time without having to wait until later in life. Our emotional well-being and our relationships are made up of daily repetitive minuscule moments- moments that are hidden in plain sight. Therapy works by offering a mirror for you to reflect on these little moments. When we reflect, we build awareness, and with awareness, we can intentionally choose how we move through the world, identify, and interact with others- all the things that make up those little moments. Therapy also offers us a different lens for how to see ourselves, others, and the world. Parenting work is a combination of reflecting and taking in new perspectives, and it can help to reduce stress and increase joy and connection in your life, especially with your children.
